I'm seeing options at the top of the list that is free tier eligible with 2 vCPU 4GB of RAM and 50GB storage. Do you think that will not be enough?

No, it won't work. Also free tier does not cover instances that are on 24 hours a day. You need the 4 vCPU 16GB Ram, and Windows 7 option.

After its Online, 1st run Windows Updates BEFORE downloading the Haas Software and do a restart.

It will come back up and than you can set it all up through Firefox.

After you get it running F11 to make it full screen and you are Done!

Also,

Under settings:

General Settings > How long should the auto-logout wait to kick in? set to 1000.

But basically even if you disconnect from Amazon WorksSpaces as soon as you reconnect it will be the same screen. It's like having Haas Online as a Virtual App.

This is very confusing to a first time user. LOL.

It is now asking me to make a directory. I made a directory and I'm clueless what that is and why it's needed.

This is definitely geared toward IT professionals.

Apparently, I screwed something up and I'm getting an error message: "The selected directory was created in a subnet that is not supported by the WorkSpaces service, and cannot be registered. Please try with a different directory or contact the AWS Support Team on the community forums and via AWS Premium Support."

We can do team-viewer if you want, but no, you did it wrong. Should have used Amazon directory. It's all simple if you stop trying to make this so complicated haha.

Just to update the thread. We jumped on Team-viewer, bypassed directory selection and it's being setup. It takes 20 minutes to go live after you accept all settings, input username, email, name, etc.

James, in all your experimentation, did you try Linux? I'm curious on the system requirements and stability on Windows vs. Linux.
