[Beginner] High/Low Strategy

Postby stephan » Sun Sep 14, 2014 6:06 pm

High/Low Strategy
Level: Beginner
Risk: Pretty safe

What to setup?
Safeties:
None

Trade Indicators:
High/Low Indicator (Press "Auto-Tune")

Insurances:
None

How does it work?
This is the most basic strategy one can setup. It works by setting an specific buy price and an specific sell price which can be done by hand or using the Auto-Tune capability. After the prices are set it becomes a waiting game. Once the prices are detected at the exchange then an trade will happen. And this process will just continue forever, just as long as those set prices are found in time.

How to get the best output of this strategy?
First of all you need an price difference. Without it you will not stay clear of the fee costs so take care of that. Secondly give it time. Do not keep on adjusting the prices again and again because its sometimes just better to wait. Give it time for the prices to move up and down.

Where to watch for?
On the long run it might be possible the prices you have set are never found again. If this is the case for an longer period of time then its recommended to adjust the buy and sell price inside the trade indicator.

Any last advice?
Yes. Again i want to point out time as an very important thing. Give this strategy time to work.

Tip: The dynamic high/low can auto adjust there prices for you, you need an Advanced license to use this one.

Proof
In the attachment you will see an example of this strategy at work at Cex.IO on GhsBtc. In the example we where trading 5 GHs, which was about 0.0186 BTC at the time. In the 20 minute run we made 0.00014980 Btc.

Hi,

in previous version of Haasbot (0.9 or something) there was checbox that it open sell order after successful buy order. Or vice versa. Can you include this checkbox again in the HaasBot? I would like to use it in High/Low strategy.

What does "Force market orders" do?

I am under the impression that "Force Market Orders" uses only existing open orders to fill buy/sell indicators -- it won't set a buy/sell order and wait, it will wait until an appropriate buy/sell order of the indicated price is available, and then complete that transaction. (just another user but this is how I believe it works)

I assume this is the PriceHighLow indicator?

What do you think about adding Overcoming Fees insurance to this strategy?

you shouldn't need overcome fee as the gap in buy/sell prices should be enough to cover fees.

Thanks for posting some of these beginner strategies!

I was a little lost when I first bought the software, but these are helping me make sense of it all.
